Demonstration of key capabilities BVLOS for drones (ADACORSA)

Discover our last milestone of the ADACORSA project with the demonstration of key capabilities for BVLOS logistics in this video. It showcases the integrated flight demonstrations carried out by the partners (Embraer, NLR, AnyWi, ESC Aerospace, ISEP) at the NLR Drone Centre in Marknesse for:

  • Authority Control Hand-over (ISEP and Embraer)
  • Multi-links for robust communication in WiFi, LTE/5G and SATcom (AnyWi and ESC)
  • Cooperative Detect And Avoid (NLR)

These capabilities will add to the future deployment of logistics and other Innovative Air Mobility services, using European technologies!

About the ADACORSA (Airborne Data Collection on Resilient System Architecture) research project:

Europe’s drone industry is required to rise to the challenge of new, Beyond Visual Line Of Sight (BVLOS) technologies, which allow service providers to perform complex drone operations and to navigate without any human interference. The EU-funded ADACORSA project will increase public and regulatory acceptance of BVLOS by demonstrating technologies for safe, reliable and secure drone flight in all circumstances and flight phases. The project performed research and development of components and systems for sensing, telecommunication and data processing. It adapted technologies from the automotive sector to the drone market for radar and LiDAR sensors and 3D cameras; moreover, it delivered hardware and software for accurate sensor fusion and data analytics as well as technologies for secure and reliable drone communication.

ADACORSA has received funding from the ECSEL Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant agreement No 876019.
