Sustainability in our organisational culture

At NLR, our employees are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a work environment where our employees feel at home, can work safely and healthily, and can develop their skills. Our policy on Health & Vitality, Social safety, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) aims to promote a positive and inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome and valued.

Learning & development

Our employees are our greatest asset. That’s why we invest in their development and growth. We offer a range of learning and development opportunities, including training sessions, workshops, and courses designed to stimulate personal and professional growth.

Talent development

In addition to providing learning and development opportunities, we also focus on identifying and developing talent within our organisation. Talent development is a crucial investment in our company’s future. We encourage our employees to develop their unique knowledge and skills in line with our concept of a learning organisation.

Our values and code of conduct

Our code of conduct is based on the values of integrity, respect, and responsibility. We expect all employees to adhere to the principles outlined by NLR. To ensure that our employees feel safe reporting any irregularities, we have established a whistleblower policy.

NLR whistleblowing policy describes when this policy applies to reporting potential misconduct, breaches of European law or integrity violations, and the procedure to be followed.

As part of our commitment to a positive and inclusive culture, we also have an internal committee, CARE (Create Awareness of Responsibility by Ethics), which serves as an ethics committee supporting our moral compass and strengthening our image and reputation with the goal of achieving social impact.

Healthy and social

Our policy for Healthy & (Socially) Safe working is aimed at ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. We achieve this by complying with laws and regulations and by providing support to employees to promote their health and vitality.

Social safety: a safe working environment

The project ‘social safety’ is an important part of our efforts to promote a positive and inclusive culture. By training colleagues and managers and incorporating social safety into our guidelines and processes, we strive to create a work environment where everyone feels safe and valued.

Diversity and inclusion: our goal

NLR strives for diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our work. With a statement of intent for a Gender Equality Plan and a D&I core team, we are actively working towards achieving our diversity and inclusion goals. Our goal is to create a work environment where everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background or identity. We want our employees to feel at home and be able to grow and develop in an environment that stimulates and supports them.
