An important part of the project are the flight tests to test and train various aspects of the scale model behaviour. The first series of tests consisted of high speed taxi on an airport runway in October 2021. The successful first flight of the SFD took place on 30 March 2022 in the Netherlands. Additional qualification flights took take place in April 2022.
The last series of tests flights are the mission flights and were performed together with CIRA in Italy in October 2022.
