On Wednesday 5 October Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands paid a working visit to the headquarters of the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) in Amsterdam. The visit focused on the themes of ‘sustainability and innovation’. The Prime Minister was given a guided tour of various NLR projects and facilities, like NARSIM control tower simulator, that represent the innovative nature of NLR’s research, and the contribution it makes to the competitiveness and capacity for innovation of Dutch SMEs and industry. The working visit also clearly highlighted NLR’s impact on society, as a unique research organisation that aims to make air traffic in the Netherlands and around the world even safer, more efficient and more sustainable.
