Capability

Satellite navigation and PNT

NLR has expertise in Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT), mainly focused on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) enabled applications. With experience in design, testing, and verification, our team of experts is well-versed in assessing GNSS performance and robustness. Our laboratory and field test facility is equipped with cutting-edge tools, including GNSS testing and simulation software, high-quality GNSS receivers, antennas, inertial navigation systems and software defined radio frontends. We also have the capability to test your equipment under various conditions, including jamming and spoofing.

The NLR research aircraft can fly EGNOS approaches with GNSS receivers, and we also utilise UAVs to conduct real-world testing of payloads. The NLR facilities also include an anechoic chamber for controlled indoor testing, an antenna test range for live outdoor testing, and a GNSS performance monitoring station .

NLR can support you with:

  • Robust satellite navigation / PNT solutions for your critical application.
  • Testing your GNSS / PNT application in airborne environments, such as aircraft or UAVs.
  • Testing your GNSS / PNT application under critical conditions, including interference, spoofing, and jamming.
  • Providing insight into the performance of satellite navigation systems, including Galileo, GPS, and EGNOS selecting the best receiver technology for your specific application.
  • Alternative navigation solutions for increased resilience against GNSS disruptions or interference.
